Although I have been engaged in and pursuing art since my first watercolor lesson at age four, it was not until I discovered metalsmithing in college that I felt a true connection to my medium. The inherent strength of metal and the associated challenges of working and manipulating it to create delicate forms held an immediate appeal for me, and I was hooked instantly.
After fifteen years as a studio jeweler, I am amazed that it is still as exciting today as the day I started. Honing skills and discovering and developing new techniques keep my creative sensed alive and constantly challenged.
My recent work with 22 karat gold granulation is
both challenging and immensely gratifying.
Unlike the majority of granulated work which
features repeated geometric patterns, I have been
using the technique to communicate my passion
for the world of nature, especially it's graceful botanical
forms which relate so well visually to the delicate
granulated surface.

I enjoy every aspect of creating a piece of jewelry, from design stage to fabrication, and my high standards of craftsmanship are evident in each finished piece. However, there is no greater gratification in metalsmithing than being told that one of my designs has become a client's favorite piece of jewelry.
